Trump deems Kanye West a ‘distraught man’ who ‘just happens to be Black’ after Mar-a-Lago trip fallout
Former President Donald Trump responded to criticism after meeting hip-hop artist Kanye West at Mar-a-Lago, calling West a “distraught man.” In Saturday’s message, Trump wrote that he had helped Kanye West, “a distraught man,” by meeting with him at Mar-a-Lago. He said that West had been “decimated in his business and virtually everything else” and that Trump had given him “very much needed ‘advice.'” “nypost.com“
Several notable Jewish leaders, including David Friedman (who served as Trump’s U.S. Ambassador to Israel from 2017-2021), have spoken out against the former president for hosting a meeting at his Palm Beach, Florida estate. “msn.com“
Friedman condemned Ye and Fuentes’ visit with Trump, saying that it was “unacceptable,” just as he had done for former President Barack Obama’s associations with antisemites Louis Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright.
In a recent campaign video, rapper Kanye West claimed President Trump was “perturbed” by suggesting they run on the same ticket in 2024. He also said that Trump was “caught off guard” by his “intelligence.” These claims come from Ye’s “Mar-a-Lago debrief” from his LA headquarters.
“Trump seems very impressed with Nick Fuentes,” Ye continued. “And Nick Fuentes, unlike many of the lawyers and other people he was left with on his 2020 campaign, is a loyalist.” In an interview, Ye asked Trump why he didn’t free more of the Jan. 6 protesters. Trump responded that it would have looked bad, to which Ye responded that it already looked terrible.
While talking about his conversation with Trump, West said, “He goes into the story about all that he went through to get Alice Johnson out of jail, and that Trump didn’t do it for Kim, but he did it for me. But then he says that Kim [Kardashian] is a [bleeped out profanity], and you could tell her I said that. And I was thinking, that’s the mother of my children.” Johnson was a 63-year-old who Trump granted clemency in 2018. He said Christians in America know Trump is a conservative and will demand that policies be aligned with Biblical values.
“I was taken aback when Trump started yelling at me and telling me I was going to lose,” Ye said. “Has that ever worked for anyone in history? I mean, really? He was trying to intimidate me, but it would not work. I’m Ye.”
