For Those Who Were Upset with McConnel Over Gun Legislation

There are a lot of Republicans who are upset with McConnel over his willingness to vote yes for the new gun regulations. I held my tongue because McConnel doesn’t do anything without a cause. He is trying to salvage the GOP in the suburban areas. If we are to re-take the House or the Senate we have to get the suburban areas to come out and vote. I hate to say this but, Nancy Pelosi is a smart old crow and she has feasted upon her constituents long enough.

McConnel has matched her wits and he is making his move now, now is the time (As I’ve said in many other articles) for Republicans to campaign on the things that matter. I know everyone has noticed Chuck Schumer is not smart at all. Pelosi is pulling all the strings. McConnel makes Schumer look like the weak little man he is. So before you rush to condemn McConnel for voting for the new gun regulations, pay attention to this article.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s aim is to play down controversial issues that suburban voters might feel more sympathy for Democrats including gun restrictions, abortion rights, and former President Donald Trump’s falsehood that the 2020 election was stolen to mellow the GOP’s image with that demographic group of voters before the midterm elections.

McConnell has his eyes on the election as he sanctions the bipartisan gun-control legislation the president signed into law, acknowledging after the vote that he hopes it can help Republicans appeal to suburban voters who have abandoned the party in recent elections.

A massive, group win would, in the conservative minds, have justified Mr. McConnell blocking then-President Barack Obama’s nominee, Merrick B. Garland, because 2016 was an election year, and then quickly moving to fast-track Mr. Trump’s nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, because 2020 was an election year.

“It’s no secret that we’ve lost ground in suburban areas. We pretty much own rural and small-town America. And I think this is a sensible solution to the problem before us, which is school safety and mental health,” McConnell told reporters. “And yes, I hope it will be viewed favorably by voters in the suburbs that we need to regain in order to hopefully be a majority next year.”

The Kentucky Republican’s goal is to downplay the contentious issues on which suburban voters may be more sympathetic to Democrats — including gun restrictions, abortion rights, and former President Donald Trump’s lies that the 2020 election was stolen — to soften the GOP’s image with this group of voters ahead of the midterm elections.  Reporting by: “

So as they say from my time, it’s all there in a nutshell. McConnel didn’t get to be the Republican leader in the Senate being stupid or Nieve. He reached for the Stars and gained the Universe. Let’s hope his taking back the suburbs is successful. The way that can happen is let’s get out there and vote in the mid-term elections.

God Bless the United States, God Bless the Veterans
